The stars are heading to Seapoint Golf Links for the OFX Irish Legends Championship & Celebrity Pro-Am 

Legendary golfers Michael Campbell, Peter Baker, Ian Woosnam and more will tee it up alongside sporting Legends at the 2024 OFX Irish Legends Pro-Am. 

A star-studded field has been announced for the OFX Irish Legends Pro-Am at Seapoint Golf Links. English cricket player, James Anderson, former Irish goalkeeper Shay Given and Irish soccer star Megan Campbell are among the players who have been confirmed for the celebrity Pro-Am to be played on June 19th.  

James Anderson is one of the greatest English cricket players as he holds the record for most wickets by a pace bowler in Test cricket history, having reached 700 wickets. He will be joined in the field by Irish soccer star Megan Campbell who is known for her long throw. She will be switching to golf for the day as she will tee it up beside the Legends players and former Irish soccer goalkeeper Shay Given. Irish boy band legends, Brian McFadden of Westlife and Keith Duffy of Boyzone will also be taking part in the celebrity Pro-Am at Seapoint Golf Links.

The celebrities will be teeing it up alongside defending champion Peter Baker, Ian Woosnam, Irish star Peter Lawrie, Stephen Dodd and Paul Lawrie. These golfing legends have a combined total of 44 DP World Tour titles, 2 majors, 1 senior major and 11 Ryder Cup appearances between them.  

Michael Campbell, Shaun Micheel, Mark McNulty and Scott Hend have also been confirmed for the event and will be key players to watch.  

Ian Woosnam of Wales will bring a wealth of experience to the field having won the 1991 Masters and 29 titles on the DP World Tour. He played in 8 consecutive Ryder Cups from 1983 to 1997 and continued his class as he transitioned into the Legends Tour as he claimed the rookie of the year title in 2008 and followed it up with 5 wins on the tour.  

Woosnam is joined in the field by Paul Lawrie who also claimed the Legends Tour rookie of the year title in 2019. Lawrie also has an impressive resume having won the 1999 Open Championship. He claimed 8 wins on the DP World Tour and played in 2 Ryder Cups before he made his way over to the Legends Tour.  

Stephen Dodd of Wales hit the ground running when he joined the Legends Tour having won 4 times which included a win at the Senior Open Championship. He was also the winner of the 2021 Legends Tour Order of merit. Dodd had three wins on the DP World Tour and one on the Challenge Tour which makes him one of few golfers to have won on all three tiers of the European Tour.

Peter Baker will have his eyes set on defending his title as he is in search of his 7th title on the Legends Tour which included a recent win at the 2024 Barbados Legends hosted by Ian Woosnam. Baker had a successful career on the European Tour which included 3 DP World Tour titles and 3 Challenge Tour wins. He also played in the Ryder Cup in 1993. 

Locals will have their eyes set on Irish Player Peter Lawrie as he will hope to claim his first win on the Legends Tour. Lawrie turned pro in 1997 and captured one win on the Challenge Tour and his maiden victory on the DP World Tour where he claimed the 2008 Open de Espana. He was the first Irish golfer to win the DP World Tour Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award in 2003.  

The field is set at Seapoint Golf Links, and it is sure to be a fun and competitive week for the celebrities and players competing from the 19 – 22 June.
